It’s okay to question God on sexual purity

Why did you create us this way?
Wouldn’t it have been easier for everyone if you placed more natural controls on the human body?
Why does it seem that I am wrong and everybody else right about having sex as part of enjoying life?
Why does it even matter?

How long do I have to wait for the licence to go wild?
What about the question of compatibility since marriage is a life-long commitment?
What will happen if my husband and I are not a match?
Don’t you think you have put too much trust in me, seeing as I really am not Jesus?

Why do I keep falling into temptation, knowing very well what sexual purity entails?
Why do you keep forgiving me no matter how many times I slip?
Will you still punish me for sinning knowingly?
I have tried to stay pure for years. Are you still working on me or am I a write-off?

They say it is wise to ask questions, even about God and your faith in him, because this way, you find out more and have stronger premises for your beliefs.

Sexual purity is one of the tallest orders for Christians, many observing the standards simply because it is what they were told to do from a young age. So don’t be afraid to ask your questions. Ask God too, and tell him how you are fairing in your journey. He can take it.

It is not doubt but an inquiry to make sexual purity somewhat inherent, because only this way will you be able to see the full picture and stay the course.

Your spring water is for you and you only, not to be passed around among strangers.
Bless your fresh-flowing fountain!
Enjoy the wife you married as a young man!
Lovely as an angel, beautiful as a rose— don’t ever quit taking delight in her body.
Never take her love for granted.
Why would you trade enduring intimacies for cheap thrills with a whore, for dalliance with a promiscuous stranger?
Proverbs 5:17-20, MSG
